Midfielder Khaidem Shileima Chanu will captain India’s 18-member junior women’s hockey team at the Junior Women’s Asia Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in Moqi, China, from August 30 to September 13.
The continental championship will be India’s biggest age-group assignment of the year, with the team hoping to build on months of preparation under new chief coach Tim White ahead of the tournament.
The squad heads into the Junior Asia Cup after returning from an exposure tour of the United Kingdom, where the players faced Scotland, England, Belgium and the United States in seven matches as part of their preparations.
