Who will India face next in Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026?

India advanced to the second round at the ongoing FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026 after a goalless draw with England in their final Pool-D fixture.

Who will India face in the next stage of the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026?

As per the new format of the World Cup, the eight teams which progress into the second stage will be split into two groups of four. The top two teams from those will then progress into the semifinals.

The top two teams of Pool D — India’s pool — will be grouped in Pool E with the top two teams from Pool A.

Pool A consisted of the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, and Chile. The Dutch and the Australians have already confirmed their progression to the second round as the top two teams of this pool.

Meanwhile, China — in India’s pool — had already confirmed its presence in Pool E.

So, India will face the Netherlands and Australia in the second round of the World Cup.
