Pakistan missed out on notching up its first win of the ongoing FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026 after playing out a 3-3 draw with Wales on Monday.
With this result against Wales, which is playing in just its second World Cup, Pakistan sits third with a point from two games. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had fallen to a 1-4 defeat to England.

Despite this draw with the Welsh, the Pakistani side is still in contention to advance to the second group stage. But it will need to beat arch-rival India when the two sides meet in their final group-stage match on Wednesday, August 19.
