India and China shared spoils with a 2-2 draw in their FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026 Group-D opener at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands on Sunday.
For the Indian team, clad in its away white kit, Navneet Kaur and Deepika scored goals, with the latter coming from a Penalty Corner.
Meanwhile, Zhang Ying scored China’s first goal from a Penalty Stroke and Ma Ning sounded the board from a PC.
The Sjoerd Marijne-coached team will next face South Africa on Tuesday, August 18, at the same venue.
