Argentina won the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup for the first time in 16 years after beating host Netherlands 3-1 on penalties. This was the Argentine team’s third title, first since the 2010 edition when it had beaten the Dutch. Meanwhile, this was the fifth runner-up finish for the Netherlands in the tournament’s history.
