Argentina will meet the Netherlands in Saturday’s Women’s Hockey World Cup final after the South Americans scored late to beat Australia 1-0 in Thursday’s second semifinal.
It will be a repeat of the 2022 final when the Dutch beat Argentina 3-1 in Spain.

Earlier on Thursday in Amstelveen, The Netherlands edged co-host Belgium 1-0 in a controversial semifinal to advance to an eighth successive final.

Belgium thought it had equalised five minutes from the end through Famke van Heel but the effort was ruled out by the VAR after an obstruction by a teammate in the circle, to the consternation of the Belgians.
Argentina has been to six previous finals but won two, while the all-conquering Dutch, who are also European and Olympic champions, will be looking for a fourth successive title and record-extending 10th overall, having won the previous editions in 2014, 2018 and 2022.
