NEW DELHI: India’s cricketing stars Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh Thakur have made significant strides in the latest ICC T20I rankings, with Mandhana moving up to fourth place among batters and Thakur ascending to fifth among bowlers. These advancements reflect their exceptional performances in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.
Smriti Mandhana, India’s opener and vice-captain, now holds 743 rating points.She achieved this milestone following her crucial 60-run knock in the final against Sri Lanka.
Renuka Singh Thakur’s impressive performance also shone in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup. She took seven wickets, pushing her up four places to reach fifth in the bowlers’ rankings, now holding 722 rating points. She is positioned just behind England’s Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, India’s Deepti Sharma, and Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal.
Radha Yadav has also made noteworthy progress, ascending seven places to 13th place. Her six wickets in the Asia Cup made her the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
