Drinks break! England have breached the 300-run mark and they currently hold a narrow lead of 69 runs. Sure, the first 45 minutes or so, belonged to England as the Sri Lankan bowlers looked very unsettled and we saw too many bowling changes. The ball drifted degrees due to that gusty wind blowing across Old Trafford, but the English batters looked highly accommodated to the movement of the ball. Jamie Smith and Gus Atkinson stitched a solid 66-run stand with Smith comfortably notching up his maiden Test century. But, England lost Gus Atkinson right before the break. England will be looking to rebuild again, as they do not have a comfortable lead currently, but will feel relaxed as Smith is still unbeaten on 101. Sri Lanka on the other hand will aim to take consecutive breakthroughs. Well then, Matthew Potts is the new batter in at number 9 for England.
