Chasing a daunting 242, DC’s innings began cautiously with Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul adding 8 runs in the opening over. Rahul briefly shifted momentum in the next over, striking a crisp boundary and a towering six off Nitish Kumar Reddy. However, the early promise faded quickly as Dilshan Madushanka removed Nissanka for 8 in the third over.
Nitish Rana counterattacked immediately, blasting 16 runs in the next over to keep DC alive at 45/1 after four overs. Rahul also looked in rhythm, even launching Eshan Malinga for a six, but consistency remained elusive for the Capitals.

Stubbs added 27 before falling to Malinga, who continued his dominance, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/32. Even as Ashutosh Sharma tried to counterattack briefly, he too fell to Malinga’s precision.
In the end, Harsh Dubey closed out the innings with a triple strike in the final over, sealing DC’s fate at 195/9.
Earlier, SRH had set the tone with a massive 242/2, powered by Abhishek Sharma’s breathtaking unbeaten 135. His innings, laced with 10 sixes, was complemented by Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive 37 off 13 balls, ensuring DC were always chasing an impossible target.
